Rivers Casino (Chicago, IL) - the current rules/side bets
Main Post:
Hi Friends,
Just wanted to post what I saw when visiting from last weekend a few notes for Rivers Casino. It was slammed (per usual) on Saturday and fairly busy on Sunday. Also, they apparently they had a bomb threat shortly after I left on Saturday and I had no idea until today.
Mins are 25 (about 6 tables), 50 (about 4 tables), and 100 (1 on main floor and 2-4 more in High Limits).
The 25s (and sometimes 50) are all 6 shoe and hit on soft 17. All games are 3:2 while side bets are some 3 and 3+ options where you want your two plus the dealers to make a straight, flush, or straight flush of some sort. Also another "jackpot" bet for $5 to try to hit triple 7s for about 20k if all suited. (I do not recommend any offered side bet here)
The 100s (and rarely 50s) have one 100 min on the main floor and 2-4 in high limit. All are "NO ENTRY MID SHOE" which is nice and they all stay on soft 17.
In summary, if you want a decent EV game high limit 100s are the only one I would recommend. When the shoe runs cold its easy to move to another table. All 25s and most 50s are full of slow players and are full. I played for 4 hours both nights betting 100-1000 variation and had zero heat.
Also, water is free but not alcohol which is only about $6 at the high limit bar.
Side note: If you play poker it really is a 1-2 hour wait for a seat (no call ins) and all cashiers lines are quite long.
Top Comment: Wow, all shoe games? Surprised there’s no DD game.
Which Chicago t-14 school is my best bet for an acceptance with a lower GPA (3.55) and a strong LSAT (178)?

Is Domu my best bet for apartment hunting for non-corporate/private landlords?
Main Post:
Rent in my ~750-800ft2 basement/garden unit is jumping from $1,240 to $1,350 and it leaks like a sieve, so electric and/or gas not being included adds to that more than I'd like. Figured I'd peruse the market for something smaller and $200+ cheaper, but having a German Shepherd and looking for 1st floor/basement/garden units (for noise reasons) is pretty restricting.
Given that insurance companies typically slap "aggressive breed" on G.S.D.s, is Domu my best bet for non-corporate/private landlords? Even going out to the southwest suburbs, it's tough to find anything that fits those three requirements.
I'm also assuming I'm not starting a search too early for a lease that's up on April 30th? Or maybe more shit will open up in one month's time. Not too sure there.
Top Comment: In my experience 2 months out is a good time to begin looking in earnest. I’ve had good luck finding mom and pop landlords through Craigslist. May also be worth making a social media post as you never know who may have something available.
Where to stay/bet in Illinois
Main Post:
My girlfriend and I are looking at going down to Illinois preferably around the Chicago area. I’m wondering what are some nice casinos with televisions and sport books relatively close to Chicago. Thanks in advance!
Top Comment: Does the girlfriend know you're staying at a casino/sportsbook? Lol

Top Comment: I think winning a championship next year would impact the rebuild too much - I'm not in favor. We need to build up through the draft.
